The year is 1875 and the little town of Marietta, along the Susquehanna River, is booming. Benjamin Hiestand is the wealthy owner of a sawmill, a planing mill and a coal yard. Mr. Hiestand has just built an elegant mansion for his family...a place of beauty and serenity, where they can escape the noise and the heat of the town.
Now, after more than five years of loving restoration, we present Susquehanna Manor much as it was in 1875 - an oasis of peace and Victorian elegance. From the mahogany-paneled dining room to the comfortable bedrooms, the entire house is authentically restored and furnished in period antiques.
An abundant Lancaster County breakfast is served daily. Other meals are available by appointment. Call us to arrange a luncheon or tea party that will look elegant and taste even better!
